What this does: Lets you choose which GrowthZone Pay (GZ Pay) gateway processes each fee item, when you have more than one GZ Pay gateway.
Applies to: GrowthZone associations with two or more GZ Pay gateways. An extra non-GZ Pay processor is fine, but one GZ Pay gateway plus another processor isn’t enough. Not available to Canadian customers yet, because split payments need a newer version of Stripe.
Before you start: Set up your gateways first (see Set Up GrowthZone Pay). Plan the change outside your busy event and renewal seasons. With Best Practice Mode (BP Mode) on, create new fee items instead of changing old ones.
Time needed: About 10 minutes, plus time to update your fee items.
Turn on split payments
Turn on the setting, then assign a gateway to each fee item that needs one.
- Go to Finance, Administrative section, click Billing Settings and select General Billing Settings.
- In the Splits Settings section, select Enable Splits by Fee Item and click Save.
- Open each fee item that should use a different gateway and choose its Payment Gateway. Fee items with no gateway use your default gateway. Changing a fee item updates all its open invoices.
Checkpoint: The Fee Items list shows a Payment Gateway column with your choices. Blank means the default gateway.
The Fee Items download to Excel also includes the Payment Gateway column.
Report by gateway
Filter and group billing reports by gateway.
-
Payment Processing Report: choose the gateway in Payment Gateway. Blank means the default gateway.
-
Other billing reports: add Payment Gateway under Additional Criteria / Filters or in Display Options. Transaction fees are shared across gateways, not doubled.

Common pitfalls
- Changing fee items during a busy season: wait until event and renewal seasons are over.
- Editing old fee items in BP Mode: they can’t be changed. Create new fee items.
- Looking for the gateway option in a module: it moves to the fee item once splits are on.
