The Goal: Understand the GZ Pay Action Required alert, why it appears, and what steps to take to satisfy Stripe's information requirements and avoid disruption to deposits.
Before You Begin:
- This applies to GrowthZone Pay customers. If you see an alert icon in the menu bar, action is required.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Look for the alert icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen. If displayed, additional information is required by Stripe.
- Click Learn More in the alert to view the GZ Pay — Action Required message.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to provide the requested information. This may also appear on the Payment Gateway setup screen and when editing your GrowthZone Pay gateway.
- Once all requirements are met, the alert will no longer display.
FAQs
- Why is more information being requested? Stripe may be required from time to time to collect additional information by financial regulators, card networks, or other financial institutions.
- Will this be a one-time request? Not necessarily. If requirements change in the future, the same alert process will be used.
- Does this affect new customers, too? Yes. New GZ Pay customers will see an "Action Required!" alert (rather than "Upcoming Action Required!") when setup is incomplete.
- What happens if we do not complete the information? Requirements not met may result in suspension of deposits or, in rare cases, account termination at Stripe's discretion. GrowthZone has no control over this.
- I now see a green "Default" checkbox next to one of the gateways. Is that new? Yes — this was added to make it easy to see at a glance which gateway is the default without clicking in.
Common Pitfalls
- Missing the deadline: An "Upcoming Action Required" alert becomes an "Action Required" alert at the deadline. Once it turns to Action Required, you typically have about two weeks before deposits are suspended.
