The Goal: Add the Social tool to an Email Designer template so members can connect with your organization on social networks like Facebook and Twitter directly from your newsletter.
Before You Begin:
- You need access to the Email Designer with permission to create or edit templates.
- Have the URLs for each social network account you want to include (for example, your company’s Facebook page and Twitter/X account) ready to paste.
- An Email Designer template open in edit mode.
Email Designer tools are basic content elements that are used to design your templates. Text, images, and buttons are some examples of the built-in tools. To start using these tools, you will simply drag them into your newsletter to add content. Content formatting options are displayed when a tool is added to your document.

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to Marketing & Communication, Communication section, click Email Designer, then open the template you want to edit.
- In the tools panel, locate the Social tool. Including your social network icons on your template provides an additional opportunity for your members to connect with you. We recommend that you add these social media buttons at the bottom of your templates.
- Drag and drop the Social tool onto your template at the location where you want the icons to appear.
- Select the social networks you wish to include (for example, Facebook and Twitter/X) and provide the appropriate URL for each.
- Click Save to finalize your changes.
Common Pitfalls
- Missing or incorrect URLs: A social icon with no URL (or a mistyped one) will not link correctly. Paste the full address for each network and test the links before sending.
