The Goal: Update the expiration date (and expiration date after payment, if applicable) for a single membership directly from the member's Profile tab.
Before You Begin:
- If the option to Enforce Date Rules on Fixed Renewal Month Memberships is enabled and the membership has a Fixed Renewal Month, the GrowthZone system will enforce certain rules for membership dates. This prevents staff users from changing those dates — the Next Bill Date and Expiration Date fields may not be editable.
- Have the correct target expiration date(s) ready before starting.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Navigate to the member's record. On the Profile tab, click the icon in the Memberships section for the membership you wish to update.
- Click Edit Expiration Dates.
- Make changes as needed:
- Current Expiration Date: The expiration date of the membership, calculated based on the start date or last renewal date and the membership term as defined in the membership type setup.
- Expiration Date After Payment: The date to which the expiration date will be updated after the member pays the membership dues invoice, if any balance is due.
- Click Done.
Common Pitfalls
- Date fields not editable: If the Enforce Date Rules on Fixed Renewal Month Memberships option is enabled and the membership has a fixed renewal month, the date fields will be locked. Contact your system administrator or review global membership settings.
- Balance present — only setting Current Expiration Date: If the member has an outstanding balance, set both the Current Expiration Date and the Expiration Date After Payment to ensure the expiration advances correctly when they pay.
