Methods of Payment

The Goal: Understand the flexible payment methods available to members for events, the online store, and Info Hub invoice payments when using GrowthZone Pay (Stripe).

Before You Begin:

  • These payment methods are processed through Stripe (GrowthZone Pay). There are no additional fees for these methods.
  • Features listed are for U.S. customers only (at this time) and are not available with other payment processors.
  • The online store requires an additional module.

Available Payment Options

NOTE: Apple Pay and Google Pay are not allowed as saved payment methods. Users will not be able to save these methods in the Info Hub or use them for Autopay. Be sure members are logged into their Apple or Google accounts to use these features.

Apple Pay

Apple Pay is available in Safari for iPhone and iPad users and Macs with Touch ID. It is compatible with iOS 9 or later and macOS Sierra or later. Members must have an Apple Pay account established and be logged in to use this feature.

Google Pay

Google Pay is compatible with Android devices running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later, and with iPhones, iPads, and computers running Google Chrome. Members must have a Google Pay account and be logged in to their Google account to use this feature.

Stripe Link

Stripe Link is a secure, one-click checkout option supported by hundreds of thousands of businesses. It allows users to quickly and securely access saved payment methods in Stripe. After a customer stores their payment profile, Link will send an email to the customer for security verification.

NOTE: Stripe Link transactions will show as Card Type and Card Number in the Payment Processing report and as Card Type, Card Number, and Expiration Date in the Transfers Details report.

Stripe Financial Connections / ACH

Stripe Financial Connections allows users to securely share their financial data with your business. With one integration, you can instantly verify bank accounts for ACH payments and mitigate fraud by verifying account ownership details — all within the payment widget.

IMPORTANT: Staff cannot enter ACH information on a customer's behalf. Due to privacy restrictions, only customers can enter their bank information. When entered through the Info Hub, microdeposits will be verified. When entered through a module form (such as an event registration or donation), instant verification is used.

Common Pitfalls

  • Apple Pay / Google Pay cannot be saved: Members expecting to use these methods for autopay or stored profiles will not be able to do so. Only cards and bank accounts via Stripe Financial Connections can be saved as payment profiles.
  • ACH entry is member-only: Staff cannot enter bank account information on behalf of a customer. If a member needs to pay by ACH, they must enter the information themselves through the Info Hub or a module form.
  • US-only features: These flexible payment options are currently only available to US customers using GrowthZone Pay.

Reporting

The Payment Processing and GZ Pay Transfer Details reports display information on credit card use. Please note: 

  • For the Payment Processing report, if a contact uses GZ Pay's Stripe Link, Card Type and Card Number are shown.
  • For the GZ Pay Transfer Details report, if a contact uses GZ Pay's Stripe Link, Card Type, Card Number, and Expiration Date are shown.
  • For both reports, we cannot report on Apple Pay or Google Pay.
