Real Estate Edition Only
The Goal: Handle a single class that grants both COEN and COEC credits by using Expo sessions or separate events, so each agent receives only the credit appropriate to their attendance.
Before You Begin:
- Components can only have one type (COEC or COEN). Attaching two components directly to a single event will grant both credits to all attendees — which is not the desired outcome. Use one of the two approaches below.
Option A: Expo Module (Sessions)
If you subscribe to the Expo module, you can enable Sessions for your event. Set up two sessions: one for COEN, and one for COEC. Each session gets its own component. When agents register, they select the appropriate session to receive the credit for that component.
-
Set up your event.
- Set up a timeslot.
-
Create two sessions: one for COEN, one for COEC. Attach the appropriate component to each session.
- When agents register, they select the desired session (COEN or COEC) to receive the appropriate credit.
- When the event/session is completed, mark the registrant as completed in the session to grant the appropriate credit.
- On the Sessions/Breakouts tab, click the number of registrations for a session to open the Session Attendees window. Use Set All to Attended, or manually set each attendee's status as appropriate.
Option B: No Expo Module (Separate Events)
If you do not have the Expo module, the only solution is to set up two separate, concurrent events — one with the COEN component and one with the COEC component. This is the only way to grant attendees the proper credit for their attendance.
If you would like more information on the Expo module, please contact our Engagement Team.
Common Pitfalls
- Marking attended at the event level instead of the session level: Credit for COEC or COEN is only granted when the registrant is marked as attended within the correct session. Always mark attendance in the session, not at the top-level event.
- Attaching both components directly to one event: This grants both COEC and COEN credits to every attendee. Always use sessions (Option A) or separate events (Option B) when two distinct CE credit types are involved.
