The Goal: Send a push notification to members who have downloaded the MemberPlus app, either to all app users or to a targeted list/committee.
Before You Begin:
- Members must have downloaded the MemberPlus app to receive push notifications. See MemberPlus App for more information.
- Members must have notifications enabled on their devices. They are prompted either when first installing the app or when viewing notifications in the app. Members can always view notifications in the app by tapping the bell icon in the top right of the app's home page, even if device notifications are not enabled.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to Marketing & Communication, Communication section, click Push Notifications.
- Under Recipients, select Send To All Users to notify all MemberPlus app users, or enter one or more lists/committees to target a specific group.
- Enter your Message. Messages are limited to 255 characters.
- Click Send.
The notification will be sent to the selected recipients.
Common Pitfalls
- Only MemberPlus app users receive push notifications: Push notifications are only delivered to members who have installed the MemberPlus app. Members who have not downloaded the app will not receive them.
- 255-character limit: Push notification messages are capped at 255 characters. Draft your message in advance and check the length before sending.
