- Decide on the communication goal each workflow should serve (for example, a workflow for new prospects or a drip campaign for new members).
- Have a campaign list ready, or plan which key individuals and groups you want to target.

Common Pitfalls
- No campaign list attached: A workflow only sends targeted communications when it is tied to a campaign list. Confirm the list is attached before activating the workflow, or your automated messages will not reach the intended individuals and groups.
