The Goal: Change the billing contact assigned to an organization's membership so that invoices are directed to the correct individual.
Before You Begin:
- The new billing contact must already be associated with the organization in GrowthZone.
- Note that the billing contact's email address is automatically derived from that contact's default/primary email address — it cannot be set independently.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Navigate to the organization's record. On the Overview tab, scroll to the Memberships section.
- Click the hyperlink for the membership you wish to change.
- Select the desired Billing Contact from the drop-down list.
Note: The contact's email address cannot be manually selected — it is automatically derived from the selected contact's default/primary email address. - Click Done.
Common Pitfalls
- Contact not in the drop-down: If the desired billing contact does not appear in the list, they may not be linked to the organization. Add them as an individual/contact first.
- Email address: The billing email is tied to the selected contact's primary email. If a different email is needed, update that contact's primary email address first.
