The Goal: Generate a GrowthZone widget and copy its HTML so you can embed forms—such as a newsletter subscription or list/committee signup—directly onto your own website’s pages.
Before You Begin:
- You need staff access to Settings and the ability to manage GrowthZone Pages.
- Have your target domain configured so it appears in the ACTIONS dropdown.
- Have access to your website’s HTML editor so you can paste the generated code.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to Settings, Website section, click GrowthZone Pages.
Click the ACTIONS dropdown next to your domain and select Generate Widget.
- Select the widget type and your target domain, along with the other features you wish to include with your widget. For example, if you want a newsletter subscription on your web page, choose Subscriptions.
- List/Committees: You can create a widget allowing visitors to your website to join lists/committees. You would choose the lists/committees you wish to include on your page.
- Message: This will be displayed at the top of the page and you can customize it to suit your needs.
- Information to Collect: Choose the information that you wish to collect when someone completes the form.
Once you have completed the above, copy and paste the generated code into your website’s HTML editor.
Common Pitfalls
- Pasting into the visual editor instead of the HTML editor: The generated widget is raw HTML. If you paste it into your website’s rich-text/visual editor, the code may display as plain text instead of rendering as a form. Always paste it into the HTML/source view.
