Is storing cards with GZ Pay safe?
Yes. GZ Pay uses Stripe to process payments. Card and bank details are stored with Stripe, not in your GrowthZone database.
How Stripe protects payment details
- Secure transmission: Every transaction is protected by SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), which encrypts data as it travels.
- PCI compliance: Stripe is a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (Visa registry), the highest grade of payment card security.
- Encryption: Card numbers are encrypted and stored in Stripe’s secure data centers.
Checks Stripe runs on each payment
- CVC check: The CVC (card verification code) is the three- or four-digit number printed on the card. Stripe rejects any payment where the CVC does not match.
- AVS check: AVS (address verification service) compares the billing street address, city, state and zip code with what the bank has on file. Stripe still processes payments that fail AVS, because there are many harmless reasons, such as a recent move.
Good to know: Stripe Link payments appear as standard credit card payments in all reports.
