The Goal: View the list of membership types set up in your system, filter it by status, and read the owner icons that show whether each type belongs to a business, an individual or a family.
Before You Begin:
- Membership types allow you to define the membership packages and fee items you wish to provide to your members.
- These membership types may be included on your membership application form, so the list you see here is what drives what applicants can choose.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to Memberships, click Settings and select Membership Types. The page opens as Membership Settings.
- A list of the membership types currently set up in your system is displayed.
- To view membership types by status — Active or Inactive — click the Quick Filter icon.
- To add additional filters, click the Customize Filters icon.
- Read the icon in the left-hand column of each row to see who owns that membership type:
- The membership type is owned by the business.
- The membership type is owned by an individual.
- The membership type is owned by a family.
- The membership type is owned by the business.
Common Pitfalls
- Concluding a membership type is missing: The list honours whatever status filter is applied. If a type you expect isn’t showing, check the Quick Filter before assuming it was deleted — it may simply be Inactive.
- Overlooking the owner icon: The left-hand column icon tells you whether the type is owned by a business, an individual or a family. Two types with similar names can behave very differently depending on that owner, so check the icon before choosing one.
