The Goal: Use the Enhanced Directory add-on module to give website visitors radius-based "Near Me" search, so they can enter what they are searching for and a distance, and see how far member locations are from a given zip code.
Before You Begin:
- The Enhanced Directory is a paid add-on module. If you wish to purchase it, Request a Meeting with Your Customer Solutions Executive.
- The zip code (radius) search is only available in the US, and the Enhanced Directory module is only available to those using V2 of the public modules.
- Directory search options are configured from the Directory Display Settings page under Settings, Website section.
- NOTE: If you were previously using the "Show Postal Code Filter" search feature in the Standard Directory, that option should be disabled before implementing the Enhanced Directory radius search.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Once any other search options have been selected, select the Near Me option on the search page. Two additional fields below the search options will appear: My Zip Code and Radius.
- Enter a zip code, and select the distance (choices include 1, 5, 10, 50, and 100 miles) from that zip code to narrow search results to a specific radius.
- The results will display the distance to the member locations.
Common Pitfalls
- Conflicting postal code filter: Leaving the Standard Directory's "Show Postal Code Filter" search option enabled alongside the Enhanced Directory radius search can confuse visitors. Disable the older filter before implementing the radius search.
- Unsupported region or module version: The zip code search is only available in the US, and the Enhanced Directory module is only available to those using V2 of the public modules. If "Near Me" does not appear, confirm both conditions are met.
