The Goal: Confirm the two configuration requirements that must be in place before Recalculated Pricing will function for member renewals.
Requirements to Enable Recalculated Pricing
Both of the following must be configured:
- Allow Recalculate Renewal Billing must be enabled. Go to Memberships, Settings section, and enable this setting under Membership Settings. See Global Membership Settings for details.
-
Membership Type Renewal Pricing must be set to Recalculate Price on each applicable membership type.
When Recalculate Price is set, the system will compare the proposed pricing to determine the renewal price versus the price included on a member's Scheduled Billing. This auto-calculates each membership's price based on the currently shown membership type and includes checking any formulas on that membership to recalculate the membership price.
IMPORTANT: When using Recalculated Pricing, you must ensure that the pricing and formulas for your membership types are up to date. If the membership type pricing is out of date, the recalculation will use outdated values.
Common Pitfalls
- Only one setting enabled: Both the global "Allow Recalculate Renewal Billing" setting AND the membership type "Recalculate Price" option must be enabled. Enabling only one will not activate the feature.
- Outdated membership-type pricing: Recalculated pricing is based on the current membership-type configuration. Keep your pricing and formulas up to date to ensure accurate results.
