The Goal: Manually link an existing invoice to a membership activation when the invoice was created before the membership was added, or after an invoice was voided or deleted.
Before You Begin:
- You need staff permissions to edit a member's membership and billing records.
- Have the member record open and know which invoice you intend to link to the activation.

Step-by-Step Instructions
In rare cases, you may need to manually link an invoice to a membership activation. For example, an invoice was created prior to adding a membership, or an invoice has been voided or deleted. To link an invoice:
- Click the desired membership on the member's Profile tab.
- In the Membership Activity section, click the
icon for the activity you wish to link to an invoice.
- Select Link/Unlink Invoice.
- Click the gray plus sign
to display a list of available invoices.
- Select the radio button for the desired invoice.
- Click Done.
Common Pitfalls
- Linking the wrong activity: The Membership Activity section can list several activities. Confirm you are clicking the icon for the correct activity before selecting Link/Unlink Invoice, or you may attach the invoice to the wrong activation.
