The Goal: Send an email to a specific group of event attendees by using the dynamic lists GrowthZone automatically creates for each event registration type and registration status.
Before You Begin:
- You need permission to send email/communications in your GrowthZone database.
- Have an event with at least one registration type set up, so its dynamic lists are available.
- Know the event name (and, if helpful, the registration type name) you want to email.
Step-by-Step Instructions
GrowthZone automatically creates dynamic lists of event attendees based on their registration type and registration status, so it is easy to communicate with specific groups of attendees if needed. You can start a new email from anywhere in the system.
-
Begin typing the event name in the TO field; this will pop up a number of dynamic lists to choose from. You will now see the registrants for specific event registration types listed as dynamic lists.
Tip:Note If many of your events have similar names, staff members can start by typing Event Name + SPACE + Registration Type Name to narrow the search. Also, if using specific event merge fields, send your email from within the event itself.
- Select your desired event + registration type and compose your email (or use a template).
- See Send a Mass Email for further instructions.
Common Pitfalls
- Selecting the wrong event: When several events share similar names, type the event name followed by a space and the registration type name to narrow the dynamic-list results before selecting. If you need event-specific merge fields to populate, send the email from within the event record rather than starting from a blank email.
