The Goal: Find the controls that change an existing membership — upgrade, downgrade, adjust, drop or delete it — from the contact's own record.
Before You Begin:
- You need staff access to the contact's record.
- Membership changes can create or adjust invoices. Review the contact's billing before changing a membership that has already been billed.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the contact's record. It opens on the Overview tab.
- In the Memberships section of the right-hand column, click the ellipsis (•••) for the membership you want to change.
- Select the action you need. The menu offers Upgrade Membership, Downgrade Membership, Drop or Delete Membership, Adjust Membership, Edit Expiration Dates and Related Contacts.

Common Pitfalls
- Looking for an Actions button: There is no Actions button on the membership row. The membership-change controls live on the row's ellipsis (•••) menu.
- Confusing drop with delete: Both sit behind the single Drop or Delete Membership menu item. Dropping ends the membership and keeps its history; deleting removes it. Read Drop A Membership and Delete a Membership before choosing.
