The Goal: Generate a list of members and the contact who referred them to your organization. If you are an HBA you can use this report to see the Spike Contacts.
Before You Begin:
- You need staff access to Reports.
- IMPORTANT! This report looks to the Referred By (or Contact Spike if HBA) field that was entered when a membership was activated. It does not report on referrals your members have made via the Info Hub.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Select Reports in the left-hand rail, then click All Reports.
- Search for and select the Membership Referral Report.
- Select your search filtering criteria.
- Select the desired display options. The system is set up with default display options. Click the drop-down arrow on Fields to Display to add or remove display options.
- Select Summarize By. This is an optional setting that will allow you to group the results of your report. For example, if you wish to group the report by the contact who referred a member, you would select Contact Name.
-
Click Run Report.
The results list each referred membership alongside the contact who referred it — in the example below, Edibles referred Antiques on Main.

Common Pitfalls
- Expecting Info Hub referrals to appear: Only the Referred By value recorded when a membership was activated is reported. Referrals made by members through the Info Hub are not included.
- An empty result set: If no membership in your database has a Referred By contact recorded, the report returns no results however you filter it.
