The Goal: Set the Prorate Cutoff Day that determines whether a new member is charged for the current month's prorated membership dues.
Before You Begin:
- You need staff access to membership settings.
- Your memberships should be set up to prorate on a monthly basis for the cutoff day to take effect.
The Prorate Cutoff Day setting allows you to configure the cutoff day for prorated membership dues. The default is 15. If you have setup your memberships to prorate on a monthly basis, using the cutoff day, if a new membership is added prior to this cut-off, the full month's membership will be charged. If a new membership is added after this cut-off, the new member will not be charged for the month.

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to Memberships, Settings section, click Membership Settings.
- Click the Proration option.
- Enter the desired cut-off date in the Prorate Cutoff Day of Month text box.
- Click Save.
Common Pitfalls
- Expecting the cutoff to apply without monthly proration: The Prorate Cutoff Day only takes effect when memberships are set up to prorate on a monthly basis. If new members are still being charged unexpectedly, confirm your monthly proration setup before adjusting the cutoff day.
