The Goal: Hide the “My Files” tab in your Info Hub Resources so that files stored on a contact record’s “Files” tab in the back office are not visible to your members.
Before You Begin:
- You need staff access to change Info Hub settings.
- Be aware that this setting applies organization-wide — it hides the “My Files” tab for all members, not just selected contacts.
If your organization is uploading and storing sensitive information/files in your contact record “Files” tab in the back office and you don’t want those files visible to your members in the Info Hub Resources, you can disable the “My Files” tab in the Resources area.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Go to Memberships, Info Hub section, click Settings. Scroll down to the “Other Options” section and enable the “Disable Contact File Sharing” option. Click Save.
The “My Files” tab in the Info Hub Resources will be hidden, and any files loaded to a contact record’s “Files” tab in the back office will not be accessible by the member through the Info Hub.
Common Pitfalls
- Expecting per-contact control: The “Disable Contact File Sharing” option is a global toggle. Enabling it hides the “My Files” tab for every member — you cannot hide files for only some contacts.
