The Goal: Move a person from an event’s waiting list to a registered attendee, generating an invoice for their registration.
Before You Begin:
- You need staff access to manage event attendees.
- Have the event open and at least one person already on its waiting list
Step-by-Step Instructions
- For the desired event, click the Attendees tab.
Click Actions in the Actions column for the person you wish to register. To find those on your waiting list, select Waiting List from the Show Only drop-down list.
Select Register. NOTE: Do not select Update Registration. This option should only be used for individuals that are currently of Registered status.
- Complete the necessary/required fields on the Edit Attendee screen. When registering someone that belongs to a table/team registration type, it will register the whole table/team so that only a single invoice is created for the purchase of that table/team.
- Click Done.
The attendee is now registered for the event, and an invoice has been created. You can send and/or pay the invoice on the event’s Attendee Purchases tab.
Common Pitfalls
- Choosing Update Registration instead of Register: Update Registration should only be used for individuals who already have a Registered status. Selecting it for a waiting-list attendee will not register them correctly — always use Register.
