The Goal: View membership expiration dates, either for a single member or across many members at once.
Before You Begin:
- For background on how expiration dates are calculated and updated, see Membership Expiration Dates.
- To look at many members at once you need permission to run reports.
Option A: One member
- Open the member's record. On the Overview tab, find the Memberships section and click the membership you want.
- The page opens as Membership Details. The expiration date is in the Expiration Date field.
Option B: Many members at once
- Go to Reports, click All Reports and open the Membership Report.
- Set your criteria and click the Run Report button. Expiration dates appear for every membership in the results. For more on running and filtering it, see Membership Report.
Common Pitfalls
- Looking on the wrong tab: Contact records open on Overview. The Memberships section is in the right-hand column there, not on a separate tab.
- Running the report unfiltered: Narrow the Membership Report by status, type or date range before running it, or you will scroll through every membership in the database. See Report Filtering Options.
- Reading the wrong date: A membership record also carries a join date and a next bill date. Only Expiration Date is the date the membership ends.
