The Goal: See which individuals at an organization are attached to that organization's membership, and add or remove them.
Before You Begin:
- You need staff access to the organization's contact record.
- EXCEPTION! If you have configured the membership for Owner Only, the membership is not inherited by staff, so no related contacts will inherit member status.
How Related Contacts Appear
On a business or office record you can view the individuals associated to the organization's membership. If the organization membership is Active, those contacts related to the membership are displayed as Active in the Contacts section; those not related to the membership are displayed as Non-member.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the desired organization's record. It opens on the Overview tab.
In the Memberships section of the right-hand column, click the ellipsis (•••) for the desired membership.
Select Related Contacts.
The Edit Related Contacts window lists every contact attached to the membership. Use the minus button beside a row to remove a contact, or the plus button to add a further row.
- Click Done to save your changes, or Cancel to close without saving.
Common Pitfalls
- Confusing the Contacts section with related contacts: The Contacts section lists everyone linked to the organization. Only those also listed under Related Contacts inherit the organization's membership status.
- Owner Only memberships: If the membership type is set to Owner Only, staff do not inherit it however the related contact list is configured.
