Before You Begin:
- You need access to Marketing & Communication, Communication section, Email Designer.
- Have an Email Designer template or newsletter open and ready to edit.
- Have the full YouTube or Vimeo URL ready (full YouTube videos only; YouTube Shorts will not work).
Email Designer Tools are basic content elements that are used to design your templates. Text, images, and buttons are some examples of the built-in tools. To start using these tools, you will simply drag them into your newsletter to add content. Content formatting options are displayed when a tool is added to your document.
This article will cover the Video Tool.
Videos embedded in your newsletter are a dynamic way to engage your readers. Using the Video tool, you can include a YouTube (full YouTube video only; YouTube Shorts type videos will not work) or Vimeo URL to automatically generate a preview image. The image will then link to the provided URL.

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to Marketing & Communication, Communication section, click Email Designer.
- Open the template or newsletter you want to edit, then locate the Video tool in the Standard tools list.
- Drag the Video tool into your newsletter at the location where you want the video to appear.
- In the Video URL field, enter the full YouTube or Vimeo URL. A preview image is generated automatically and will link to the provided URL.
- Click Save to finalize your changes.
Common Pitfalls
- Using an unsupported video URL: The Video tool only supports full YouTube videos and Vimeo URLs. YouTube Shorts will not generate a preview image and will not work.
