The Goal: Create and manage Sales Sources so you can track how you learned of each sales opportunity (for example, referral, trade-show, or walk-in).
Before You Begin:
- You need staff access to the Sales Funnel settings.
- Have a name and short description ready for each sales source you want to add.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Sales Sources are used to track how you learned of the opportunity. Examples of Sales Sources might include referral, trade-show, walk-in and so on.
Go to Contacts, Sales Funnel section, click Settings and select Sales Sources.
Click Add Sales Source.
- On the Add Sales Source screen, enter a name and description of the sales source.
- Click the Active check-box.
- Click Done.
Common Pitfalls
- Forgetting to mark the source Active: If the Active check-box is left unchecked, the sales source will not appear as an option when creating a sales opportunity. Note: Sales Sources may also be set up “on the fly” when creating a sales opportunity.
