The Goal: Configure a membership’s pricing so a recurring fee item is collected in full with the first payment instead of being spread across the billing schedule.
Before You Begin:
- You need access to membership type pricing settings.
- This option is only available when proration is not enabled.
- Know which fee item on the membership should be collected up-front. When this option is enabled, the Per Bill Amt will take it into consideration when calculating.
When you set up pricing for your memberships you can choose to include a recurring fee item that must be paid in full “up-front.” In this case, the Per Bill Amt will take this into consideration when calculating.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Go to Memberships, Settings section, click Membership Types, then click Pricing for the desired membership.
For the desired fee item, click Billing Options.
Enable Collect this fee upfront with first payment/it cannot be spread.
- Click Done.
Common Pitfalls
- Proration is enabled: The “collect upfront” option will not appear if proration is turned on for the membership. Disable proration first, then return to Billing Options.
