The Goal: Set up a Volume discount so that registrants receive a discount once a minimum quantity is reached on a single event registration form.
Before You Begin:
- You need staff permission to create and edit events.
- Decide the minimum quantity that must be reached on a single registration form before the discount applies, and the amount, percentage, or set price you want to give.
How Volume Discounts Work
Volume – provides a discount if the Minimum Quantity for Discount is reached on a single registration form. Any discounts configured will apply the specified amount/percentage/set price to all line items in the registration.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to Events & Learning, Events section, and open the event you want to add the discount to.
- Open the event’s registration setup and add a new discount, choosing Volume as the discount type.
- In the Minimum Quantity for Discount field, enter the number of registrations that must be reached on a single registration form before the discount applies.
- Enter the amount, percentage, or set price to apply to all line items in the registration once the minimum quantity is reached.
- Click Save to finalize your changes.
Common Pitfalls
- Expecting the discount to span multiple registration forms: The Minimum Quantity for Discount must be reached on a single registration form. Registrations split across separate forms will not combine to trigger the volume discount.
