The Goal: Understand when GrowthZone applies your association’s default M1 ID to an eCommerce transaction instead of the payer’s own M1 ID.
Before You Begin:
- M1 requires that an M1 ID be sent with every eCommerce transaction it receives, without exception.
- The default M1 ID is configured by your GrowthZone onboarding manager (it is suggested that a staff member ID is used) so a value is always available if a customer attempts to process a transaction and does not possess their own ID.
- The default M1 ID setting lives at Settings, Real Estate Edition section, on the M1 Settings page.
Step-by-Step Instructions
GrowthZone will attempt to send the payer’s M1 ID whenever possible, but if unable, will apply the association’s default M1 ID. The logic is as follows (click to enlarge):
There may be instances where an office manager will not have an M1 ID of their own but will need to make a payment towards a broker's or other agents’ annual REALTOR® dues. The office manager should log into the Info Hub with the broker’s credentials (the broker has an M1 ID) in order to make the payment.
Common Pitfalls
- Office manager paying on behalf of an agent: If an office manager without their own M1 ID processes a payment under their own login, the transaction falls back to the default M1 ID. To attribute the payment correctly, the office manager should log into the Info Hub using the broker’s credentials (the broker has an M1 ID).
