The Goal: Delete an existing deposit from the system when it was created in error or needs correction, within the configured deletion window.
Before You Begin:
- NOTE: The ability to delete a deposit is controlled by the "Allow Deletion for (days)" setting in your General Billing Settings. If you are within the deletion window, the Delete button will be available. If you are outside the window, the button will not appear. See Configure Finance Defaults & Logo for Invoices & Statements for details on configuring this setting.
- You cannot delete a credit card deposit.
Steps to Delete a Deposit
- Go to Finance, Billing section, click All Deposits.
- Click the hyperlink for the deposit you wish to delete.
- Click the Delete button. NOTE: If the Delete button is not visible, you are outside the configured deletion window. You may temporarily change the "Allow Deletion for (days)" setting to allow the deletion — but do so with care, as this affects all deposits.
- Click OK to confirm the deletion.
Common Pitfalls
- Delete button not visible: You are outside the deletion window. Review and temporarily adjust the "Allow Deletion for (days)" setting in your Finance settings if the deletion is necessary — but restore the original setting afterward.
- Credit card deposits cannot be deleted: This is a system restriction. If a credit card deposit must be corrected, consult your payment processor.
