The Goal: Suspend an agent's M1 status from their Contact record at the start of a new NAR education cycle when they have not completed their education requirements.
Before You Begin:
- M1 suspensions can only be applied for a limited window — January and February only — at the beginning of the new NAR cycle.
- Review Consequences for Failure to Complete Code of Ethics Training for more information on the impact of an agent's suspension in M1.
- Have the Contact record of the agent you intend to suspend ready to open.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to your desired Contact.
-
On the contact record, click the Real Estate tab, then click the 'pencil' icon to the right of M1 Information.
-
Change the contact's status to suspended in the Status drop-down.
- Click Done.
Common Pitfalls
- Suspending after the cut-off date: It is ONLY valid to suspend a contact at the beginning of a new NAR cycle. If you suspend a contact after the suspension cut-off date (March 1), you will see an 'Error' show up in the Real Estate Error Log.
- Confusing the two suspend actions: This is NOT the same suspend action as when you suspend a contact on the Memberships tab. The suspend action on the Memberships tab only takes the GrowthZone membership status and changes it. The suspend action on the Real Estate tab affects the M1 status of a contact.
- Trying to bulk-suspend: You cannot bulk-suspend agents — each agent must be suspended individually from their own contact record.
