The Goal: Map your GrowthZone payment types to the matching QuickBooks Online payment methods so that synced payments carry the correct payment method and reference number into QuickBooks.
Before You Begin:
- You need an active QuickBooks Online integration connected to your GrowthZone database.
- First, create these Payment Methods in QuickBooks: Cash, Check, Credit Card, and ACH. For questions on how to set up payment methods in QuickBooks, refer to Intuit’s QuickBooks Support portal.
- Mapping GrowthZone’s payment types to QuickBooks payment methods ensures you can track a payment’s origin in QuickBooks. Synced payments include the mapped payment method as well as the reference number — the check number for checks, or your credit card processor’s transaction/reference number for credit card payments.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to Settings, Integrations section, click QuickBooks Online.
- Click Payment Types.
- Match each payment type in GrowthZone to a payment method in QuickBooks.

Common Pitfalls
- Missing payment methods in QuickBooks: If you skip creating the Cash, Check, Credit Card, and ACH payment methods in QuickBooks first, there will be nothing to map them to in GrowthZone. Set up the QuickBooks payment methods before you begin mapping.
