The Goal: Manually link a GrowthZone contact to a QuickBooks Online customer by setting the contact’s QuickBooks Online ID.
Before You Begin:
- Only link a contact manually if both of the following are true:
- The GrowthZone contact is not currently linked to a QuickBooks customer.
- You are certain that the contact in GrowthZone exactly matches a QuickBooks customer.
- Have the QuickBooks Customer ID ready — it is found by looking at the last 3–4 digits of the URL when in QuickBooks.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the GrowthZone contact you want to link, then click the More Info tab.
In the QuickBooks Online ID field, enter the Customer ID of the desired contact in QuickBooks. The Customer ID is found by looking at the last 3–4 digits of the URL when in QuickBooks.
- Click Save to finalize the link.
Common Pitfalls
- Linking an already-linked or mismatched contact: Only link manually when the contact is not already linked to a QuickBooks customer and you are certain it exactly matches the QuickBooks customer. Linking the wrong record can cause duplicate or misdirected billing data.
