The Goal: Group your undeposited payments into a deposit in GrowthZone, and look up past deposits and the payments in them.
Before You Begin:
- GrowthZone Pay: deposits for card transactions are created automatically and match the transfers to your bank account. Don’t create them by hand.
- Manual deposits are mainly for cash, checks and other non-integrated payments.
Create a deposit
- Go to Finance, Billing section, click All Payments. The list shows every payment received, deposited or not.
- Click the filter icon to open Payment Filter, select Undeposited, and click Done. You can add other criteria, for example payment type to deposit only cash and checks. Only the payments shown in the list go into the deposit.
To pick individual payments instead, see Choose specific payments. (A Search box also appears when there are more than 10 undeposited payments.) - Click the arrow beside Enter Check, then Create Deposit.
- Check the summary of the number of payments and total amount.
- Complete the details:
- Payments to Exclude: type a contact name or payment reference number to leave a payment out.
- Deposit Date: defaults to today.
- Notes: optional.
- Click Done.
Choose specific payments
- On All Payments, click the filter icon.
- Under Undeposited Payment Ref. Numbers, click View All.
- Tick the payments to deposit and click Done. The list now shows only those payments.
- Continue from step 3 of Create a deposit.
View previous deposits
- Go to Finance, Billing section, click All Deposits.
- Click the hyperlink in the Count of Payments column to see the payments in that deposit. You can download the payment list from this view.
For all deposits across a date range, run the Deposit Summary Report. To record deposits in your accounting software, see Create/Record Deposits & Refunds.
Common Pitfalls
- Depositing GrowthZone Pay card payments by hand: don’t. Those deposits are created automatically to match your bank transfers.
- Wrong payments in the deposit: it includes everything in the filtered list. Check the filter and summary before clicking Done.
- Need to undo a deposit: see Delete a deposit.
