The Symptom: An email address fails validation in GrowthZone, even though you believe it to be a legitimate address (e.g., it may be brand new at the organization).
The Root Cause: If this is a brand-new email address, it may take a day or more to propagate across the internet as valid. Because it is new, it may not yet be visible to email verification services — those services may not have updated their records to reflect the new address.
The Fix
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
- Click on the email address in the contact record (click the actual email address link, not the edit button). You will be presented with options to Correct, Revalidate, or Accept the address.
- Do not choose Accept without verifying — accepting an unverified address can affect your trusted sender score.
- Choose Revalidate when you believe the address is legitimate. If it comes back with an issue, wait a day and try again to allow time for the new address to propagate.
- If you have valid correspondence from this address, copy and paste the exact email address from that correspondence into GrowthZone and try again — there may be a hidden typo or invisible character causing the failure.
Verification: How to know it worked After revalidating, the email address should no longer show as invalid on the contact record. If the address still fails after 24–48 hours, double-check it directly with the contact to confirm its accuracy.
