GrowthZone is configured with many automated messages that get sent by the system when a certain action or trigger occurs. For example, when someone registers for an event, the system automatically sends a registration confirmation to the contact with the event information and registration details. When someone pays an invoice online with a credit card, they will receive an automatic receipt with the card and charge details. Most automated messages are global, meaning the same email template is used regardless of where the trigger action originated (all event confirmations use the same template, all credit card payment receipts use the same template, etc.). We encourage you become familiar with the automated message events, to review your automated messaging, to customize the email templates (be cautious when removing merge fields!), and to disable any messaging you don't wish to go out to your members.
Configure or Review your Automated Messaging settings
- Click Setup in the navigation panel
- In the Communications section, click Automated Messaging. A list of the available options for automated messages is displayed. See table below for further details. The category of the automated message is displayed along with the event that triggers the message to be sent, the selected email template of the message, whether the message is enabled to be sent, and an edit option.
- Click the black edit icon to change the options for any automated message.
- To disable the message, clear the box for the Send option. The system will no longer send out any messaging for this trigger.
- You may change the template used for the automated message by selecting a different template from the drop down menu, OR...
- You can edit the template used for the automated message by clicking the gray edit icon . This will open the Email Template window and allow you to make any changes. Refer to Create and Manage Email Templates for details on working with email templates.
- If you make any changes to the email template, click the Done button to save.
- Click Done again to save any changes to the template or settings.
Disable Individual Automated Messages
If you do not wish to send one or more of the available automated messages:
- Click Setup in the navigation panel
- In the Communications section, click Automated Messaging. A list of the available options for automated messages is displayed. See table below for further details.
- Click the black edit icon to change the options for any automated message.
- To disable the message, clear the box for the Send option. The system will no longer send out any messaging for this trigger.
- Click Done to save.
Automated Messaging Events
Automatic messages may be configured to be sent in response to certain actions. For Example, an automated message may be sent to a new member when they have completed the Member Application Form, or, an automatic thank you message may be sent when someone registers for the event. Your database is pre-configured with automatic messages, which you may use "as-is" or customize to meet your needs.
The table below describes the automated messages available.

Event Reminder | Event Reminder | This notification will be sent, 48 hours prior to the event, to all event registrants. This notification will only be sent if Send Reminder Email to Registrants 48 hours Prior is enabled for the event. |
Forum Comment Added | None | This notification will be sent, to those who have subscribed, when a new comment has been added to a forum, as staff who have subscribed to the notification. |

Fundraising Pledge Added | None | This email is automatically sent to thank a donor, after they have submitted a one-time donation or setup a pledge. A default is not assigned, however, the Fundraising/Donation/Pledge Thank You Template is a great starting point for your thank you letter. |
