Setup Sender Policy Framework (SPF) Record

An SPF record is a type of Domain Name Service (DNS) record that identifies which mail servers are permitted to send email on behalf of your domain. The purpose of the SPF record is to ensure that your emails are received successfully.

Below are the steps to set-up the SPF record:

  1. Verify whether you have an SPF Record. Third party software tools, such as MxToolbox can be used for this verification. Click here to see how this is done.
  2. If you have an SPF Record, add to the record right after the v=spf1. Make sure there is a space before and after it.
  3. If you do not have an SPF Record, work with your email administrator to obtain one. The SPF record can be created using software third party software, such as MxToolbox. Click here to see how this is done. After generating the SPF record, complete step 2 above
