The Goal: Choose which payment methods your customers can use, set the order they appear in on payment screens, and decide when ACH should be required.
Before You Begin:
- GrowthZone Pay must already be set up for your association.
- For the steps to reach your GZ Pay Settings, see Set Up GrowthZone Pay.
- Changes here affect new transactions only. They do not change payments that are already scheduled — see Common Pitfalls below.
What You Can Configure
- Which payment settings to offer. Select the payment methods you want available to your customers.
- The order they appear in. Drag them into the order you would prefer on any payment screen.
- An ACH threshold. Require customers to pay by ACH once they reach a dollar amount you choose.
Disabling Specific Credit Card Brands
When you disable a specific credit card brand, that card type no longer appears as an option on your public-facing pages — membership applications, event registrations, association store purchases, and fundraising forms — or on your back-office payment screens.
However, if members have stored payment profiles using the disabled card brand for scheduled billing or autopay, those payments continue to process normally. Disabling a card brand only prevents new transactions from selecting it. It does not affect existing scheduled payments.
Common Pitfalls
- Expecting a disabled card brand to stop existing payments: Stored payment profiles on scheduled billing or autopay keep processing on that brand. Disabling it only closes the door to new transactions.
- Forgetting that Link overrides your card blocks: If the customer pays using Link, it takes authority and bypasses any card blocks set here. If you have chosen not to accept AMEX but the customer has AMEX tied to their Stripe Link profile, that payment will process and will appear on your reports. See Methods of Payment for more information.
- Assuming the change is back-office only: Disabling a brand removes it from your public-facing pages too, including applications, event registrations, the association store, and fundraising forms.
