The Goal: Understand how contacts get enrolled in certification programs and when manual enrollment is required.
How Enrollment Works
Contacts may be enrolled in a program/certification in one of the following ways:
- Register for a Continuing Education event on the website;
- Register for a Continuing Education event via the Info Hub;
- Staff enrollment from the back office (NOT RECOMMENDED).
Recommended: Automated Enrollment
In your Continuing Education General Settings, Enroll Attendees To All Relevant Certifications is enabled by default. With this setting active, anyone who registers for an event with a certification component attached is automatically enrolled in the appropriate certification program. The majority of GrowthZone customers use this approach — completely automating the enrollment process. No further action is needed if this setting is enabled for your database.

WARNING: Disabling Enroll Attendees To All Relevant Certifications is NOT RECOMMENDED. Do not disable this setting without guidance from Support.
Manual Enrollment Options
If the auto-enrollment setting is disabled for your database, contacts can be enrolled manually using any of the following methods:
- Enroll a Contact from the Continuing Education section (Overview tab or Tracking page)
- Enroll a Contact from the Contact's Profile
- Member Enrollment via the Info Hub
- Approve Continuing Education Enrollments
- Decline a Certification Enrollment
Common Pitfalls
- Attendees not enrolled after event: Check that Enroll Attendees To All Relevant Certifications is enabled in Continuing Education General Settings.
- Manual enrollment not recommended: Staff-initiated back-office enrollment bypasses some automation and is not the preferred approach. Use it only when necessary.
