Download a Name Badge for One Attendee

What this does: Downloads a printable name badge for a single attendee, such as a walk-in at check-in.

Applies to: GrowthZone AMS (association management software), Events.

Before you start: Decide which logos you want on the badge (see Choose a badge template). To print designations, set them up first in Configure Designations.

Time needed: About 2 minutes.

Download a badge for one attendee

  1. Go to Events & Learning, Events section, click All Events, then open the event and click the Attendees tab.
  2. On the attendee's row, click the ••• menu and select Print Badge.

  3. In the Edit Event Attendee Badge Print window, choose your options:

    • Document Generation Template: select the layout to print. This field opens blank. The template decides which logos appear. See Choose a badge template.
    • Include Designation on Nametags: adds the contact's designations (credentials such as CAE).
    • Use Common Name on Nametags (If exists): prints the contact's common name (the name they go by) if it is on their record or was entered at registration.
    • File Format: select Pdf or Word document. Pdf is selected when the window opens.

  4. Click Done. The file downloads. Open it and print.

Choose a badge template

Pick the template that prints the logos you want. There is no separate logo setting. In the list, each name ends in .docx.

Where the logos come from: Your organization's logo is the one set for your GrowthZone account. The attendee's photo is the main image on the attendee's own contact record. If an attendee has no photo, that spot prints blank. It does not fall back to their company's logo.

Common pitfalls

  • No template picked: The Document Generation Template field opens blank. Select a template before you click Done.
  • Can't find the SingleAttendeeBadge template: It has been replaced. Pick SingleAttendeeBadge - Tenant Logo Only for the same layout with your logo.
  • Your own template prints the wrong logo: Check its merge fields. TenantLogo prints your organization's logo and AttendeeLogo prints the attendee's photo. See Create a Badge Template From Scratch.
  • Missing designations: Designations print only when Include Designation on Nametags is checked and the designations are already on the contact record.
