The Goal: Manually enroll a contact into a certification program using the Action Required section on the Continuing Education Overview page.
Before You Begin:
- Check your Continuing Education General Settings first. If Enroll Attendees to All Relevant Certifications is enabled (the default), contacts are automatically enrolled — manual enrollment via this page is not needed.
- Manual enrollment (this article) only applies when the Enroll Attendees to All Relevant Certifications setting is disabled, or when a contact appears in the Action Required section pending admin approval.
Important Note on Automatic Enrollment
In your Continuing Education General Settings, the Enroll Attendees to All Relevant Certifications option is enabled by default. This setting automatically enrolls anyone who registers for an event with a certification component attached into the appropriate certification program. The majority of GrowthZone customers use this approach, completely automating the enrollment process. There is nothing else you need to do to enroll attendees to certifications if this setting is enabled for your database.
If the Enroll Attendees to All Relevant Certifications setting is disabled in your Continuing Education General Settings, you will need to manually enroll contacts to their certifications.
Using the Continuing Education Overview Page
- Go to Events & Learning, Continuing Education section. The Overview page will display by default.
- Locate the Action Required section. This section lists potential enrollees and enrolled contacts who require a staff action — such as admin approval on a component.
- To enroll a contact with a Requires Approval of Enrollment to Proceed description, click the checkmark to the right of that contact's row.
- A confirmation popup will appear. If you are sure you wish to enroll this contact in the certification, click OK.
- The contact will now be enrolled in the certification and will receive credits for their completed components.
Common Pitfalls
- Action Required section is empty: If there are no contacts awaiting approval, this section will appear blank. Verify that the certification program has Require Admin Approval enabled and that contacts have registered for an event with that component.
- Auto-enrollment is on: If the Enroll Attendees to All Relevant Certifications setting is enabled, contacts will not appear here for manual enrollment — they are enrolled automatically.
