Payment Processing Rate Update (Effective May 1, 2026)
Why is my processing fee increasing?
Visa increased interchange rates for small business credit cards on January 24, 2026, as part of its Credit Enhanced Debit Program (CEDP). These changes apply across the payments industry.
How much will my fees increase?
Your processing fee will increase by 0.14% (14 basis points) for non-American Express credit cards.
- ACH rates: No change
- American Express transactions: No change
- GrowthZone has absorbed a portion of the network increase to reduce the impact on our customers
When does the new rate take effect?
The new rate takes effect on May 1, 2026.
- Transactions processed before May 1, 2026: Current rate
- Transactions processed on or after May 1, 2026: Updated rate
Can I make changes to my account or payment setup?
We understand that pricing changes can impact your business. If you’d like to review your account, payment mix, or explore ways to reduce costs (such as increasing ACH usage), our team is happy to help.
Will this affect all of my transactions?
No. This change applies only to:
- Non-American Express credit card transactions
It does not affect:
- ACH payments
- American Express transactions
What is CEDP, and why did Visa change rates?
CEDP (Credit Enhanced Debit Program) is an interchange category used by Visa for small business card transactions.
Visa periodically updates interchange rates based on market conditions, risk models, and network economics. The January 2026 update increased rates within this category.
Is this a GrowthZone price increase?
No. This adjustment reflects a partial pass-through of Visa-mandated interchange increases and does not change GrowthZone’s underlying service pricing.
Are there ways to reduce processing costs?
Yes. Many customers lower costs by:
- Encouraging ACH payments where appropriate
- Adjusting payment methods for larger transactions
