The first time you sent the email, the communication history is showing that the merge fields were not populated. Then when you resent the email a minute later, the fields are showing that they were sent with the proper information.
I just had another ticket where I was able to get some information that will help with your ticket. I checked with the Product Team on this and found that if the email is sent to multiple recipients that the merge field information is not always populated in the preview of what was sent. The email the member received should have had the correct information as you saw when you sent it a minute later.
This is an item the Product team is currently working on as the CC: field is seen as a recipient as well so the system does not know which Information should be shown in the preview. Logically, you would assume the preview should contain the information that was sent in the email but it is generated at the time the email is sent. They agree this is not a great experience for this function and are working to find a better way to accurately show what was actually sent to the recipients.
They could not give me an ETA for when this will be changed but for the moment, If you send an email to multiple recipients, the merge fields will not show the information that was actually sent.
VS. when the email is sent to a single individual-
If the merge fields were empty from the actual email the member received, would you possibly be able to have that email forwarded to me at michael.samuelson@growthZone.com, or if you could please attach the email including the headers (all the To and From at the top of the email) I can complete some testing.
