Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to Memberships, Settings section, click Membership Settings.
- Locate the Renew If Expiration Month Equals Next Bill Month setting (specific to those using Billhighway).
- Review how this setting affects upcoming billing: when upcoming billing is run, the system will evaluate whether or not you are generating a renewal invoice. If this setting is enabled, and the next bill date is the same month as the expiration date, the system will identify a renewal and update the membership.
- Enable or disable the setting to match your renewal policy, then click Save to finalize your changes.
Common Pitfalls
- Unexpected renewals or missed renewals: Because this setting changes how the next bill date and expiration month are compared, enabling or disabling it without confirming your billing dates can cause memberships to renew (or not renew) when you do not expect it. Verify a few member records after changing this setting.
